Following up on the Worrells of North Carolina. Big thanks to the National Archives again. The pension file for Henry Worrell arrived today. He served with the 1st U. S. Colored Cavalry. Of interest is the fact that his father, Isaac, also served during the Civil War, with the 2nd U. S. Colored Cavalry. Isaac’s file is due next week. Hoping they’ll shed some light on the lives of our enslaved ancestors in Hertford County.
